Skunk Train: Wolf Tree Turn from Willits
This two-hour round ride will take you from the Willits valley bottom to the highest point on our rail line. During this tour, you will travel through Tunnel #2 and drop into the redwood-thick Noyo River Canyon, a spectacular natural paradise and an ideal opportunity to explore the gigantic giants that made Mendocino County renowned.
The train will stop short at Crowley so that you may take in the majesty of one of our route’s oldest and most famous trees. The Wolf Tree got its name from the massive growth on one side – woodsmen dubbed these wolf trees because they choked out lesser trees and underbrush. Passengers can off the train during our stop at Crowley to take in the scenery.
You’ll travel to Crowley aboard one of our classic Diesel-Electric engines.
